# Troubleshooting

> Resolve connection, access, retrieval, and proposal problems.

| Problem                          | What to do                                                                                                                          |
| -------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Cannot connect                   | Complete sign-in, check [connection settings](/mcp/configuration), and ask your workspace administrator whether approval is needed. |
| Organization missing             | Check that your signed-in account belongs to the organization.                                                                      |
| Project missing or action denied | Check your role and the project's access in [Sovara connections](https://platform.sovara-labs.com/connect).                         |
| Ambiguous project name           | Ask for the project list and use the full project ID.                                                                               |
| Reconnection requested           | Sign in again and review the selected organization and projects.                                                                    |
| Missing or unverified model      | Ask your administrator to configure the model named in the error.                                                                   |
| Empty search                     | Check that the lesson is published and readable. Try `retrieve` within its project.                                                 |
| Lesson cannot be expanded        | Search again and use the current result ID. Check access to its project.                                                            |
| Missing card or citation         | Ask the assistant to include the source link directly.                                                                              |
| Proposal conflict                | Read the latest changes, resolve the conflict, and review before applying.                                                          |

## A call times out

Check the affected item before repeating a write: it may already have completed.
For repeated failures, check model availability and usage limits with your
administrator.

## Local connection will not start

Open Sovara Desktop, sign in, select the local connection, and reconnect the
assistant. In Cowork, enable the **Sovara local** plugin in a local session; it
starts the connection automatically.

Ensure the [Sovara CLI](/cli/install) is installed. If the client cannot find it,
set its MCP command to the executable's full path, keeping `mcp` as the argument.
